Save a new key
Type an easy name, such as “Bank”, and below it the password with everything you want to remember. You can also add a photo, for example the sticker on your router.

See it whenever you need it
Tap “View my keys”, unlock your phone as usual and tap the name. The key appears right away, large and clear.

Each key holds a long text, up to about 1,500 words, and one photo from your gallery. So you can keep the password together with hints, the username, the account number or anything else you need to remember.

- Encrypted on your phone. Your keys are locked before they ever leave your phone.
- Your phone is the key. It comes from your phone's unlock and never reaches our server.
- Split in two halves. Each key is divided into two parts that are meaningless noise on their own.

What if I lose my phone?
Your keys are not lost with your phone.
On a new phone
Sign in with the same Google (Android) or Apple (iPhone) account, open the app and choose “I already had keys on another phone”.
If it is stolen
Without your face, fingerprint, PIN or pattern, nobody can open your keys, even with your phone in their hands.
Backup
If you like, also keep an encrypted copy in Google Drive or iCloud. Nobody can read it without unlocking your phone.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions, answered
Do I have to install anything?
No. It works in your phone's browser. To keep it at hand: on Android, Chrome menu → “Add to Home screen”; on iPhone, Safari's share button → “Add to Home Screen”.
What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?
Your keys are not lost. On the new phone, sign in with the same Google or Apple account, open the app and choose “I already had keys on another phone”. Whoever has your old phone cannot open them without unlocking it.
Can Forgetmykey see my keys?
No. Your keys are encrypted on your phone with a key only your phone has. Our server only holds encrypted data we cannot read.
My phone has no fingerprint reader. Can I use it?
Yes. The app uses whatever unlock you already have: face, fingerprint, PIN or pattern. Your phone just needs some screen lock turned on.
Does it work on any phone?
It works on Android phones with Chrome and on iPhones with Safari, as long as they are up to date.
